
Vande Bharat Trains: Increased craze for Vande Bharat Express, not only BJP, MPs of these opposition parties are also demanding this train on their route

MP Demands Vande Bharat Trains: Semi-high-speed train Vande Bharat Express has become the first choice of passengers. Vande Bharat Express trains are running at almost full capacity on 10 routes. Meanwhile, the craze about Vande Bharat has started increasing among the MPs. About 60 MPs have requested the Indian Railways to start these trains in their constituencies. Of these MPs, 14 are from non-NDA parties.
Most of these demands have come from BJP MPs. In which senior leader Devendra Fadnavis is also included. Who have demanded to run a train between Solapur and Mumbai. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi has requested for Vande Bharat train from Dharwad to Bangalore and Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for Gwalior.
Vande Bharat’s craze increased even in opposition parties
Among opposition parties, one MP each from NCP, DMK, SP, AAP and JD(U) has demanded Vande Bharat train for their constituencies, while three MPs from Congress, CPI(M) and two each from YSRCP The MPs have also demanded the same. One MP each from Apna Dal and Shiv Sena has also demanded these trains.
Bilaspur-Nagpur route was the busiest
Official data shows that of the currently running Vande Bharat trains, the Bilaspur-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express had the least occupancy in this financial year till January while the Mumbai-Gandhinagar route carried the maximum number of passengers. Data shows that the Bilaspur-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express had an occupancy rate of 55 per cent while the train running between Mumbai and Gandhinagar recorded 126 per cent.
Why Vande Bharat train became the first choice?
Vande Bharat Express train provides better facilities for the passengers. The train has several security features like automatic plug doors, touch-free sliding doors, revolving seats in executive class besides CCTVs. The train takes just 129 seconds to reach the speed of 160 km/h. A total of ten such trains are in service in the country. Out of which four operate in the same state (Maharashtra). The Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Train was the country’s first semi-high-speed train, which was flagged off in February 2019.
