The all-new Jimny has created quite a buzz ever since it was announced, with people queuing up to book one. Maruti Suzuki is expecting the new SUV to not only boost sales but also enhance its credibility in the fast-growing SUV segment. With over 30,000 bookings already, the company is on cloud nine!
The company is preparing to launch the Jimny model in the country next month. The company believes that the Jimny, along with other models like the Brezza, Franks and the Grand Vitara, will play a role in consolidating its position in the SUV segment. The company is aiming to achieve the top position in the SUV segment in the current financial year.
Shashank Srivastava, senior executive officer (sales and marketing) for Maruti Suzuki India, predicts that the new Jimny will have a positive impact on the overall brand value of the company. “The Jimny will definitely help strengthen the company’s position in the SUV segment in the country,” he added in an interview.
Maruti Suzuki has invested Rs 960 crore in the development of the all-new Jimny. The company is planning to launch this model next month. Globally, Maruti Suzuki sells a three-door version of the Jimny, while a five-door version is being introduced for the first time. Srivastava said that the company has already received 30,000 bookings for the model.
