Baleshwar: A major train accident near Bahanaga in Baleshwar district. The Karamandal Express met with an accident at 7 pm on Friday. Karamandal Express collided with goods train. 6-7 coaches of the train derailed. As per initial reports, 6 people died in the accident while more than 40 were seriously injured. The accident site was plunged into darkness as the power supply was disrupted. The injured were shifted to the hospital.
It has been reported that the Karmandalak Express, travelling from Howrah to Chennai, has met with a serious accident near Balasore. Hundreds of passengers have been injured in the crash, with a large number of severe cases. The situation at the scene is dire, as evidenced by the videos and pictures that have emerged.
Similarly, efforts have been started on a war footing to evacuate the passengers trapped in the train. Local administration officials, railway staff, rescue teams and rescue teams have been deployed at the spot. Local people are also engaged in the rescue operation.
