Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported that the prices of loose milk in Pakistan have been increased from Rs 190 per liter to Rs 210 per liter and broiler chicken has seen an increase of Rs 30-40 per kg in the last two days, due to which With this, now its price has gone up to Rs 480-500 per kg. Chicken meat is now being sold at 700-780 Pakistani rupees per kg, which was earlier 620-650 per kg, the report said, with boneless meat selling at Rs 1,000-1,100 per kg It has reached the highest rate ever.

Similarly, there has been a big jump in milk prices, Karachi Milk Retailers Association spokesperson Waheed Gaddi said that more than 1,000 shopkeepers are selling milk at inflated prices. He said that these are actually shops of wholesalers or dairy farmers and not of our members. He further said that if the price hike announced by the dairy farmers and wholesalers is not rolled back, the price of milk will go up to 220 Pakistani rupees per liter instead of 210 rupees.

Heavy increase in poultry rate
On the rising rates of poultry, Kamal Akhtar Siddiqui, general secretary of the Sindh Poultry Wholesalers Association, said that the wholesale rate of live chickens was Rs 600 per kg, while the rate of their meat has been pegged between Rs 650 and Rs 700. This increase in inflation has come amid deadlock in the talks between IMF and Pakistan, which has come as a major setback for Shehbaz Sharif’s government.

Pakistan is struggling to recover from record breaking inflation. At the same time, due to the floods last year, the economy of this country was badly hurt, in which 1,739 people were killed and about 20 lakh houses were destroyed.
