India vs New Zealand Crossover match: The match was equal to 3-3, due to which the match went into the shootout. And playing like cat and mouse in the shootout too! Sometimes New Zealand was ahead, and sometimes India was ahead. During this, India got two great chances to win the match, but the players of India could not put the ball in the goal post on both the occasions.

India Vs New Zealand, Crossover Match: In the ongoing Hockey World Cup, the host India was eliminated from the competition after losing to New Zealand in the cross-over match played at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. New Zealand beat India 5-4 in a penalty shootout. In the stipulated time, India lost it even after taking a one-time lead and the match was equal to 3-3, due to which the match went to the shootout. And playing like cat and mouse in the shootout too! Sometimes New Zealand was ahead, and sometimes India was ahead. During this, India got two great chances to win the match, but the players of India could not put the ball in the goal post on both the occasions and New Zealand won the match 5-4 and secured the quarterfinal ticket.

Earlier in the fourth quarter, India could not maintain the lead. And in the 49th minute of the game, New Zealand converted the penalty corner into a goal and equalized India’s lead to 3-3. After this situation, India definitely got two penalty corners, but on both the occasions the shot could not be converted into a goal. India got very lucky in the 60th minute before the end of the game, when a reverse shot missed New Zealand’s goal. Had this shot hit the goalpost, India would have lost the match. Good hockey was seen in the third quarter. And both the teams scored 1-1 goals. The first goal of this quarter was scored by Surjit for India from a penalty corner, but New Zealand counterattacked to make the lead 3-2. Although, India got a penalty corner in the last minute of the quarter, but India could not convert it into a goal.

After a sluggish first quarter, India played more aggressive hockey in the second quarter. And he scored two goals in this quarter. The first goal was scored by Lalit Upadhyay as soon as the quarter started, and the second goal was scored by Surjeet from the fourth penalty corner after three penalty corners were wasted in about five minutes. But before half time, the Kiwis counterattacked to make the lead 2-1. In the 28th minute of the game, Sam Lan just gestured the pass he received…excellent goal..Indian players kept watching and New Zealand scored the first goal.Earlier in the first quarter no team failed to score a goal. . India got a penalty corner but did not get success, but comparatively India played better and faster hockey than Kiwis. It was just unfortunate that India did not score a goal.
