A total of 216 roads including three national highways have been closed due to snowfall in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh Disaster Management Authority said that a total of 325 power supply schemes have been disrupted in the state due to snowfall during the last 24 hours.
Himachal Pradesh received fresh snowfall in the higher reaches of Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur and Shimla districts in the last 24 hours, while light rain occurred in the central and lower parts of the state. The Disaster Management Authority said, ‘216 roads including 3 national highways are closed in these districts. Due to snowfall, a total of 325 power supply schemes have been disrupted in the state and 10 water supply schemes have been disrupted.
Where did how much snow fall?
In Lahaul Spiti district alone, 148 roads are closed. According to the Meteorological Department, there was 20 cm snowfall in Kothi, 17.5 cm in Kalpa, 13.5 cm in Gondla, five cm each in Keylong, Kukumseri and Khadrala, two cm in Manali. Along with this, snowfall also occurred in Kufri, a suburb of the state capital Shimla.

According to the Disaster Management Authority of Himachal Pradesh, there has been a slight rise in the temperature in the region following the fresh western disturbance. Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti district recorded the lowest of -4.7°C, Kukumseri in Lahaul-Spiti recorded -2.9°C.
2.4 degree Celsius in Manali
Minus -1.2 degree Celsius was recorded in Kalpa of Kinnaur. Narkanda recorded 1.3 degree Celsius, Kufri 2.2 degree Celsius, Manali 2.4 degree Celsius and Dalhousie 4.6 degree Celsius. The temperature in Shimla was recorded at 4.8 degree Celsius.
