Modi Government: The Modi government at the Center has taken an important decision regarding Haj. According to sources, the government has abolished the VIP quota in Haj. Please tell that the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Minority Affairs Minister and Haj Committee used to get seats under the quota. In Haj, 100 seats were available from the President’s quota, 75 from the Vice President’s quota, 75 from the PM’s quota, 50 from the Minority Affairs Minister’s quota and 200 seats for the Haj Committee of India. There were a total of 500 seats in the VIP quota.

It has been abolished in the draft of the new policy. Now all Haj pilgrims will go through Haj Committee and private tour operators. The Haj policy of the government is going to come very soon. After this decision of the government, now VIP pilgrims will also travel like common pilgrims. Recently the government and Saudi Arabia signed an agreement for Haj 2023, in which more than 1,75,000 Indian pilgrims will be allowed to make the annual pilgrimage.

Haj Committee of India (HCOI) member Er Ejaz Hussain said, Government of India signed a bilateral agreement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Haj 2023. This year, 175025 pilgrims from India will perform Haj. Let us tell you that for the last two years due to Corona virus, there was a decrease in the number of pilgrims going for Haj pilgrimage.

Due to the Corona epidemic, many restrictions were imposed regarding travel. In view of Corona, Saudi Arabia had also reduced the quota of passengers for countries all over the world. However, in this year i.e. 2023, travel can be done without any restrictions. In such a situation, there can be a big increase in the number of Haj pilgrims.
