
France stuck on India’s “Defence Corridor”, now the world will see
France Keen to Participate in India’s Defense Industries: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious project of self-reliant India has given tremendous speed to India in the field of defense as well. Now India has also taken rapid steps towards the manufacture of military equipment and war equipment on the Defense Corridor.

French Ambassador Emmanuel Lenain has said that his country is keen to partner in the process of creating a national industrial base for defense industries in India. Speaking to reporters on board the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, which is participating in the Indo-French naval exercise ‘Varuna’ off the Goa coast, on Saturday, Lenain said the two countries can jointly produce a lot of equipment for the defense and space sectors. He said that France has truly understood the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and is committed to providing the best of technology to the Indian forces without any restrictions.
The country’s defense industry will be equipped with French technologies
French Ambassador Lennon said that we understand the vision of self-reliant India also because we are a very independent country and we have gone through that process as well. We wish to be partners in the process of creating a national industrial base for defense industries in India. He said that when India is thinking of giving opportunities to more suppliers, France can prove to be a good option for it. The French ambassador said that his country is committed to providing the best of technology to the Indian forces without any restrictions. He said, “France will not only support ‘Make in India’ but will also come forward for co-manufacturing and co-production of equipment.
Indo-French relations will get stronger
When asked about the relations between the two countries, Lennon said, “India and France enjoy exceptionally good and reliable bilateral relations. We believe in common values. The best way to strengthen our strategic autonomy is to cooperate with each other. Both countries can co-produce a lot of equipment for defense and space sector. The Indo-French naval exercise ‘Varun’, which began on January 16 in Panaji, ended on Friday. A French Navy official had said that this joint exercise is an example of excellent naval cooperation between India and France in the Indo-Pacific region, in which ships, warships and helicopters, as well as a French command, have enhanced the combat capabilities of both the navies.
