
Mumbai: Adidas has announced that it has become the new kit sponsor of Team India for the next five years. The agreement was announced by Jai Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), via a tweet.
In 2023, the Indian cricket team will be seen in jerseys of different franchises in the IPL. This is because they will be playing in the final of the World Test Championship against Australia on June 7 in England. The final match of the World Test Championship will be a very important one for Team India, and they will be looking to win it against Australia.
The BCCI is happy to announce that it has partnered with Adidas for the next five years. This partnership is a commitment to taking cricket forward. Adidas is the biggest sports company in the world, and this partnership will help the BCCI reach new heights.
Significantly, BCCI has been continuously changing its kit sponsor for the last few years. In 2020, he ended his contract with Nike and signed with BYJUS. Later, he signed a deal with MPL to take the kits as a sponsor. BCCI’s agreement with MPL was till the end of 2023. But now this contract has been canceled midway. After this the Indian team became the new sponsor of Keeler. MPL agreed to pay Rs 65 lakhs Rs 9 crores per match for three years. But within five months this contract has also been canceled. The Indian Cricket Board is now left without a kit sponsor.
